Katrina Dorer graduated from the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science in Equestrian Studies with Emphasis in Western Riding and Training in 2010. At the university she worked with several top trainers in western pleasure, cutting, reining, lead changing, and colt breaking for four years. Katrina also showed with the Western IHSA team and was a founding member of the Stock Horse Team. After graduating, Katrina attended Casey and Son Horseshoeing School and Research Center in Villanow, Georgia. Upon completion of the twelve week course, she received her Journeyman I certification through the Brotherhood of Working Farriers Association. After running Eagles Reach Stables for four and a half years (first three with a partner who retired) Katrina decided to change the branding to Emerald Ridge Stables to better reflect her personally. In October 2019 Emerald Ridge Stables moved to it's new location in Lanexa. Katrina lives on site with her husband DJ and also runs her farrier business, Rocking K Horseshoeing.
